Quantum Messaging
Where do we need more expensive instant messaging when the speed of light is not sufficient (through space, air or fiber)?
- High security communications (but not because of the speed)
- For cheating?
Already stock markets have mechanisms for preventing anyone to misuse a fraction of a second. So probably not.
- Space, but this one was obvious.
- It is Cloud computing!
Case 1: You have a car driven by machine intelligence. MI can't figure out how to survive from the situation without someone getting badly hurt or killed. What it will do: send a help request to Cloud Computer MI with all of the info asking for help. Usually for nothing, but sometimes this would save lives.
Case 2: Killing robot can't decide if it should shoot or not and sends similar request for the Cloud Computer MI to decide.
Communications would be by default instantaneous to one direction only. Except when either of these have predicted that they might help early enough to get bi-directional instant comms.
